High School Football: Campolindo Tops El Cerrito; Acalanes and Miramonte Both Win

Acalanes and Campolindo will square off next Friday night in a battle of unbeaten teams

All three Lamorinda high school teams were victorious on the football field on Friday night.

Campolindo High defeated El Cerrito High, 42-27, in a high-scoring match-up between two of the East Bay's best teams.

Campolindo is now 4-0 while the Gauchos fell to 2-2.

The Cougars held the lead throughout most of the game on their home field.

They were up 14-7 at the end of the first quarter and 28-21 at halftime.

They built up a 35-21 lead at the end of three quarters.

El Cerrito closed the gap to 35-27 midway through the fourth quarter, but Campolindo scored a final touchdown to put the game away.

Miramonte High crushed Alameda High, 44-14, on their home field.

The Matadors scored 23 points in the first quarter and led 37-0 at halftime as they cruised to victory.

Miramonte is now 3-1 while the Hornets fell to 2-2.

Acalanes High also scored a lopsided win, pummeling Tennyson High, 45-15, on their home turf.

The Dons scored 21 second quarter points to take a 28-3 lead into halftime. They scored another 17 points in the second half for the victory.

Tennyson fell to 1-3. Acalanes is 4-0 and will play at home against undefeated Campolindo next Friday night.
