Times best-selling author of DC expose This
Town
on Saturday, November 16 from 11-1 at the Orinda Community Church, 10
Irwin Way

Getting Big Money Out of Politics Actions Are
Central to the Event
 The $$$ Out!
People In Coalition proudly presents Mark Leibovich, New York Times columnist
and the author of This Town, the
best-selling tell-all expose about life in Washington, DC.  All are invited to the free admission, 2 hour
gathering that includes viewing part of a Bill Moyers provocative interview
with Mr. Leibovich followed by a half-hour live Q&A session with the author
and the audience via Skype.   There will
be many actions aimed at getting big money out of politics plus information
tables by community member groups of the non-partisan Coalition. To energize
the day, there will be music preceding the event from 10:30-11 when the program
begins.  Snacks too.

The event is created by
member groups of the non-partisan $$$ Out! People In! Coalition.  They include: the Brady Campaign to Prevent
Gun Violence, CA Common Cause, California Clean Money Campaign, Central Contra
Costa and Tri-Valley MoveOn Councils, League of Women Voters of Diablo Valley
and Livermore/Amador Valley, LULAC Institute, Mt. Diablo Peace and Justice
Center, Move to Amend East Bay, Represent.us, Rootstrikers, Todos Unidos.

 As the California Clean Money
East Bay coordinator, Joe Ely, said, “The effect of my work is strengthened by
working together with groups that have a common goal. It looks like the
grassroots will have to take the lead in getting a transparent, people-driven
democracy.”

As John Oliver of the Daily
Show said about the feature of the day, “This
Town
is funny, interesting and demoralizing.  I loved it as much as you can love something
that hurts your heart.”
