Video: New Paint Outlet Decorates Lafayette

Kelly-Moore store on Mount Diablo Boulevard opened in January, with grand opening next month.

A new paint outlet is mixing it up on Mount Diablo Boulevard in Lafayette.

The new Kelly-Moore store had a soft opening in January, and is pointed toward a grand opening celebration with a noon ribbon cutting on Thursday, March 14.

The store is still waiting for construction of a big sign in front of 3707 Mt. Diablo Blvd., several doors west of city offices at Desco Plaza. Until that sign comes in, it's word of mouth and some advertising, including fliers mailed to postal customers in Lafayette.

A number of local painters and contractors who are accustomed to driving in to Walnut Creek to get Kelly-Moore paints have been in to say they had been hoping for a Lamorinda outlet for years, said manager Jason Sanchez.

With recent openings in Lafayette, San Francisco and San Jose, Kelly-Moore now has 63 stores in the Bay Area. Kelly-Moore Paint Company is headquartered in San Carlos.
