For most of the kids who go there, Rheem will always be "the school on the hill." This Moraga elementary school sits…More at the end of a steep drive, and overlooks much of Rheem Valley. It serves kids from Kindergarten through fifth grade, most of whom go on to nearby Joaquin Moraga, and then Campolindo High School.

The school is known for its approachable staff and laid-back Moraga manner. But kids here regularly test at or better than district standards, and the school stresses a core curriculum of language arts, math, and science.

Rheem offers "extended day" programs for kids with working parents, along with the usual after school activities, sports, and clubs. The school works hard to identify and cultivate gifted and talented students, testing for leadership and scholastic aptitudes and maintaining a curriculum suited for students exhibiting these traits.

Special Ed classes are offered for students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities. ESL classes are also taught.
