But, If We Ban Leaf Blowers...

What happens when "uncle Boredom" stops by for a visit.

I ran across this video on The Daily What website. Given the leaf blower controversy plaguing Orinda, I had to chuckle as I watched.

The Daily What's comment was quite amusing, too...

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but this leaf-blower-powered office chair was clearly raised by its fun uncle Boredom.

Well done Kenny! We'll have to host this on the new (soon to be released) Quiet Orinda website.
We also have some video of a car detailing shop inside a multi-level parking facility, with gas blowers being used to "dry" off the washed cars (what a reverberating racket they cause). Oh, and one more novel use, also on video: blowing freshly-fallen snow off walkways and driveways. Perfect for those formerly-tranquil Tahoe neighborhoods - now everyone can enjoy the "music" year-round! There's just no end to the applications for this wonder invention!

Love allusion and the imagery. Good one. I would agree to a ban on blowers on days when winds are expected to gust over 60 mph.

I really debated about posting this one. I hope neither side of the issue was offended. It just seemed like the whole topic needed a bit of humor so folks could pause, take a breath & share a laugh together.

As an aside, my dumb trick of the day was when I was a teen & along with my friends we'd make home made blowtorches out of aerosol cans like AquaNet (do they even sell that anymore) or PAM. I once burned an enormous hole in my mother's new carpet. Neither she nor my father were impressed or amused. I seem to recall a discussion of military/reform school.

I was trying to listen to the news this morning when I was disturbed by the sound of a blower, completely baffled why this noise was so loud I jumped up to investigate and I found someone using a blow dryer in the room next to me..I propose an all out ban on blow dryers, Extremely loud (deafening)blowing hair, dander dust all around houses through out our town... Anyone wanna back me?

No thanks. Inside your home you're on your own. It's the outside blowers, the ones affecting LOTS of people, that I'm more interested in curtailing.
