The Weekender: "My Chemical Mountain," Fall Concerts, Rita Moreno Talks

Some of the events happening this weekend in Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda

As you plan your weekend, here are some of the events in the Lamorinda area from Thursday evening to Friday evening.

On Thursday evening, the annual State of the Town address will be held in Moraga.

The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Moraga Country Club, 1600 St. Andrews Drive.

Mayor David Trotter will discuss the state of the town. City volunteers will also be honored.

Also on Thursday evening, screen and stage star Rita Moreno will discuss her life and career.

The forum begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Lafayette Veterans Memorial Building, 3780 Mt. Diablo Blvd.

Diablo magazine senior editor Peter Crooks will host the discussion.

Also on Thursday evening, Campolindo High student musicians will put on their annual fall concert.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Campolindo Performing Arts Center, 300 Moraga Road in Moraga.

Also on Thursday evening, a local author will discuss her young adult novel.

The discussion by Corina Vacco about "My Chemical Mountain" begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd.

Also on Thursday evening, the St. Mary's College Jazz Band will perform.

The entertainment begins at 8 p.m. at the Moraga college.

On Friday afternoon, students' talents will be on display.

The "Fall Follies" begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Culture Center, 1700 School St.  in Moraga.

Students from the Saklan School in Moraga will be performing.

On Friday evening, the St. Mary's College Jazz Band will perform again.

This concert begins at 5 p.m. at the Moraga college.
