The Weekender: Mammals Seminar, Comedy Night, All-Star Show

Some of the events happening near Lamorinda this weekend

As you plan for the weekend, here are some of the things going on close to Lamorinda on Friday and Satuday.

On Friday morning, a class for children about mammals will be held.

"All About Mammals" will begin at 10 a.m. at the Lindsay Wildlife Museum, 1931 First Ave.

The seminar will focus on what makes mammals unique from other animals and how they adapt to survive.

On Friday evening, stand-up comedy night for animals will be held.

The evening of laughter begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Lesher Center for the Arts, 1601 Civic Drive.

Proceeds go toward Tony LaRussa's Animal Rescue Foundation.

On Saturday morning, collections will begin for weekly rummage sales at a local high school.

Donations can be dropped off beginning at 10 a.m. at the Las Lomas High basketball courts, 1460 S. Main St.

Collections will be held every Saturday until March 15.

On Saturday evening, an all-star show will help raise money for Tony LaRussa's Animal Rescue Foundation.

The "Stars To The Rescue XXIII" music and comedy show begins at 7 p.m. at the Lesher Center for the Arts, 1601 Civic Drive.

Among the performers are musicians Bruce Hornsby and The Grateful Dead's Bob Weir as well as comedian Allan Harvey.
