Lafayette Art, Wine and Music Festival Is This Weekend

One of Contra Costa's largest festivals takes place this weekend.

The phrase "something for everybody" is overused these days, but it can certainly be applied to the Lafayette Art, Wine and Music Festival. The annual event, which takes place this Saturday and Sunday, features two days of food, drink, arts, crafts, and music. There is bound to be something on that list for most everybody to love.

For instance, food. The festival will feature everything from lobster roll sliders to kettle corn, and all points in between. A number of booths and an entire alley of food trucks will be on hand to make sure you don't suffer from hunger pangs.

And what about something to wash that food down? Well, wine is in the title of the festival, so naturally there are more than a dozen vintages being poured. But let's say you're more of a beer person. Don't feel left out--there is a wide range of microbrewery brands to quench your thirst.

You say it's art you're looking for? Some hand-fashioned crafts you'd like to browse for? There is no shortage of fine art booths, and unique crafts on display on both days.

Oh, you're ready to rock? That's good. Because this event is famous for its music. And this year it's the Battle of the Bands. Each band is assigned a number, and festival-goers are asked to text the number of their favorite band to 82888, using keyword lafbattle and then the number of the band.

Here's the lineup this year, with the band's number:

  • Dominent 7 and friends 10
