Lindsay Olives Gives $5K to Local Food Bank

Food company Lindsay Olives presented the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano with a $5,000 check on Thursday to help fight hunger.

Employees of the Lafayette-based company also donated three hours of their time that day.

The company's employees wanted to take action and make positive changes throughout the community, said a Lindsay spokesperson, about the motivation for organizing the event. Future volunteer events are planned, she said.

The company’s mission includes producing products in an environmentally sustainable way, according to the Lindsay Olives website.

The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is located at 4010 Nelson Avenue in Concord California.
