St. Mary's College Basketball Coach's Suspension Upheld

NCAA committee says Coach Randy Bennett must sit out five games at the beginning of this season

St. Mary's College basketball coach Randy Bennett will have to miss five games at the beginning of this season.

An NCAA committee on Monday upheld the suspension levied against Bennett in March for recruiting violations, according to a story in the Contra Costa Times.

Bennett's five-game suspension begins Dec. 30. He also won't be allowed to recruit off campus this season, the Times reported.

The St. Mary's basketball program will also be on four years probation.
