High School Volleyball Playoffs: Campolindo, Miramonte Win

Acalanes High is upset in the first round of the North Coast Section girls volleyball tournament

Campolindo High and Miramonte High advanced while Acalanes High was upset in the first round of the North Coast Section high school girls volleyball playoffs on Wednesday.

In the Division III competition, top seeded Campolindo defeated 16th ranked John F. Kennedy High in straight sets.

The Cougars now play eighth seeded Petaluma High at 7 p.m. Saturday on their home court.

Campolindo is 23-9 on the season while Petaluma is 20-13.

Fifth seeded Miramonte edged 12th ranked Terra Linda High in five sets on Wednesday.

The Matadors will face fourth seeded Albany High at 7 p.m. Saturday in Albany.

Miramonte is 15-11 on the season while Albany is 22-3.

Sixth seeded Acalanes lost its first round match to 11th ranked Analy High in straight sets.

The Dons finished their season with a 16-14 record.
