High School Tennis Playoffs: Miramonte Wins, Acalanes Loses

The Matadors' girls tennis squad will now compete in the second round of the North Coast section playoffs

Miramonte High's girls tennis team has advanced to the second round of the North Coast Section playoffs.

In the first round on Tuesday, the third seeded Matadors defeated 14th ranked Alameda High, 6-1.

Miramonte now plays sixth seeded Foothill High at 5 p.m. Thursday on their home court.

Miramonte is 17-3 this season while Foothill is 17-4.

Acalanes High lost their first round match on Tuesday.

The 12th ranked Dons were beaten by sixth seeded James Logan High, 6-1.

Acalanes finishes the 2013 season with a 10-8 record.
