High School Football: Miramonte Defeats Acalanes

The Matadors bounce back from last week's defeat while the Dons lose their third straight

Miramonte High's football team returned to its winning ways by defeating Acalanes High, 42-28, at home on Friday night.

In a back-and-forth game, Miramonte jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead, but Acalanes keep fighting back.

The Matadors were ahead 35-28 in the final period before scoring a final touchdown to put the game away.

Miramonte improved to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in league play. They bounced back from last week's 38-10 loss to Campolindo High.

The Matadors play Dougherty Valley High in two weeks.

Acalanes, meanwhile, dropped its third straight game. The Dons are now 4-3 overall and 0-3 in league play.

They play Dougherty Valley next Friday.

Undefeated Campolindo didn't have a game this weekend. They'll travel to Walnut Creek to play Las Lomas High next Friday.
