Campolindo Boys Win Swimming, Volleyball NCS Titles

Campolindo High's boys teams doubled their pleasure this weekend, winning North Coast Section titles in both swimming and volleyball.

The Cougar swim team won its ninth straight title on Saturday, scoring 256 points to Granada's 229 and Miramonte's 167 at the NCS championship at Concord Community Pool.

Steven Stumph set a national record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 53.39, edging Charlie Wiser of Miramonte High and Nick Silverthorn of Granada High.

In volleyball, the Campolindo squad won the Division II NCS crown by defeating Washington High, 25-16, 25-25-10, 25-21.

The Cougars were the number one seed while Washington was the second seed.

It was the third straight year Campolindo has won the NCS title. Both teams advance to the Northern California championships.
