'Virtuosity Goes Viral' On Display Through June at Lafayette Gallery

And on Saturday, the gallery is hosting an outdoor Artists' Market!

The talent of the Lafayette Art Gallery’s circle of artists will be on display in a stunning selection of works to be exhibited during “Virtuosity Goes Viral,” the gallery’s exhibit open now and running through June 28.

Energized by the gallery’s new quarters on Mt. Diablo Boulevard at Brown Avenue, the artists have filled walls, display cases and pedestals with more than 150 works of the first order, including paintings, jewelry, glasswork, ceramics and photographs.

And on Saturday -- May 17 -- the Lafayette Art Gallery is hosting an Artists’ Market in the courtyard and fountain area next to the Gallery from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The area will be transformed into an enticing outdoor marketplace reminiscent of Carmel, with a variety of artists exhibiting, demonstrating, and selling their artwork.

In addition, the creative offerings of three artists will be featured during May: Pat Prosek (printmaker), Debby Koonce (painter), and Polly Bradbury (glass artist) will be the featured artists.

Friday, June 13 is the “Second Fridays” reception. The public is invited from 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to meet the artists and have a glass wine.

The Lafayette Art Gallery was founded 15 years ago; all members are selected by jury, and the work shown is of remarkably high quality and represents a value unusual in today’s art scene.
