Pink Slip Day A Bitter Pill In Lamorinda

Tuesday was Pink Slip Day for teachers and workers at Lamorinda schools as the district's comply with legal requirements to notify those who will be let go.

There was a little cake and a lot of tears Tuesday as Lamorinda's school administrators made the rounds to inform some teachers and district staff that current funding levels will no longer support their salaries.

By law, the districts must notify any certificated employee by March 15 if their services will not be required in the next school year.

Moraga schools stand to lose 4.5 positions unless alternative funding can be found, and parent's groups are attempting to do just that.
