Orinda Now Has A Mother-Son Connection For Mayor, School Board President

Dr. Christopher Severson will head up the school board for 2014 while his mother oversees the City Council

The Severson family has the reins of Orinda government for 2014.

Dr. Christopher Severson was selected Monday night as the new president of the Orinda Union School District board of education.

His mother, Sue Severson, was selected last week by her fellow Orinda City Council members to be mayor for 2014.

Severson was elected as a school trustee in 2010 in a vote that saw three new members join the board.

Severson grew up in Orinda. He and his wife, Pam, have five children under the age of 15.

The school board also selected Matt Moran as vice president. Moran was first elected to the board in 2008 and then re-elected in 2012.
