Lamorinda School Board Nomination Filing Period Begins

Two seats are available on each local school district board, leaving Lamorindans to wonder who among them will step forward to run for these positions.

The nomination filing period for Lamorinda school district board members began Monday, July 16 and will continue through August 10 at 5 p.m.

The Acalanes Union School District, Lafayette School District, Moraga School District and Orinda Union School District each have 2 open seats on their governing boards. Lamorindans will have a chance to vote for candidates running for these positions on Nov. 6.

Nomination forms are available at the Contra Costa County Elections Office in Martinez.

So far, we know that is running for a seat on the Lafayette School District Board. Both board member Shayne Silva and board president Stephanie Teichman's terms are up this fall.
