Former Moraga Teacher Says Administrators Ignored Her Warnings About Abuse

Listen to a former teacher describe what happened when she told her bosses that a colleague was making students uncomfortable.

A former teacher at Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School said that administrators drover her from the school after she tried to report sexual abuse by another teacher.

Carolyn Buchanan, who was known as Carolyn Scozzafava when she taught at Joaquin Moraga, told the Contra Costa Times that on at least a dozen occasions she warned her superiors that Dan Witters was molesting students.

Buchanan’s comments come as the school district faces lawsuits from former students who allege that the administration failed to protect them from sexual predators.
