Moraga School Board Aims For Provisional Appointment

The board hopes to make its choice for governing board vacancy at a Dec. 20 meeting.

The Moraga School District Governing Board has voted to fill its board vacancy with a provisional appointment rather than a special election.

The vacancy was caused by last month's sudden, unexplained resignation of Dexter Louie a day after he had been re-elected Nov. 6.

The board is intending people to submit an application by Wednesday, Dec. 19 — see the procedure and announcement on the Moraga School District website. The board hopes to interview applicants at an open session on Thursday, Dec. 20, and then make the appointment that evening.
