Lamorinda Schools Included in Ranking of Nation's Best High Schools

See which Lamorinda high school had the highest ranking.

Campolindo, Miramonte and Acalanes are among the best high schools in the country according to rankings released Tuesday. 

With a national ranking of 125 and a state ranking of 20, Campolindo High School was one of 500 schools nationwide awarded a gold medal medal by U.S. News and World Report in its 2013 list of the nation's best public high schools.  

Miramonte High School and Acalanes High School also earned gold medals from the magazine with national rankings of 126 and 263 and state rankings of 21 and 51, respectively.

The rankings were calculated by looking at student performance on standardized tests, evaluating how well schools educated black, Hispanic and poor students, and by how effectively they prepared graduates for college.
