Lafayette School District Governing Board to Meet Wednesday Night – Advance Agenda Highlights
The Lafayette School District Governing Board will meet Wednesday in the Administration Offices of the Lafayette School District. The Board will convene in closed session from 6:30 - 7 p.m. with the open session beginning at 7 p.m.

Allen Bill Overview
Superintendent Dr. Fred Brill will review the recent Governing Board change regarding Allen Bill transfers. The Board recently overturned its own desicision and agreed to admit Allen Bill transfers for the 2010/11 school year.

2009/10 STAR Test Results
The Governing Board will receive the 2009/10 STAR Test Results from the District and all principals will be on hand to discuss their particular site results and "how this data will be used to inform teacher practices, curriculum and intervention programs."

Teacher of the Year
Stanley Teacher, Brian Mangold, will be recognized as the Lafayette School District Teacher of the Year.
Complaint Procedures
Among the agenda items for its scheduled September 15 meeting, the Lafayette School District Governing Board plans to revisit its policies and procedures for receiving complaints concerning schools, district employees and instructional materials. Williams Uniform Complaint Procedures, as put forth by California Education Code 35186, allows for a uniform complaint recording and response process regarding: instructional materials, condition of facilities and teacher vacancy or misassignment. Related complaints must be submitted in writing and the complainant can request a response.
English Learner Policy Guide
The Lafayette School District is scheduled to present its draft English Learner Plan/Program and Police Guide to the Governing Board for a first reading. The District has researched best practices for English Learner programs and documented relative work taking place within the District.
