Friends of LLLC Sweet Thursday Presents: Emotional Eating!

The Friends of the Lafayette Library is delighted to host a conversation about "emotional eating"--why we do it, how we can recognize it, and how we might change it. Dayna Macy, the author of Ravenous: A Food Lover's Journey from Obsession to Freedom, offers the personal and reflective side to the story of eating for emotional reasons. Macy confronts her complicated relationship with food delicious morsel by morsel. She visits a chocolatier, a sausage maker, among many places, and delves deep into the meaning of her cravings.

Dr. Ed Abramson, an international authority on the psychology of diet and health and the author of Emotional Eating: What You Need to Know About Starting Another Diet, gives insight into the behaviors that lie behind our eating habits and hands us the necessary tools to take charge of our emotions and to manage our weight.

This will be an enlightening conversation for food lovers, parents who hope to instill healthy habits in their kids, and people looking to shed some light on their own eating habits.

Dr. Abramson is "the go to authority on the 'why' of weight gain..." - Men's Health

"Ravenous is among the most engaging, fun and insightful books about appetite you'll ever read." - Sue Halpern, author of Can't Remember What I Forgot
