Del Rey Students Rock With Hula Hoops

The count was 402 students at Del Rey Elementary in Orinda. They were working out with hoops in the quest for a Guinness Book world record.

Some 402 students hooped it up Monday morning in a quest for a Guiness Book world record at Del Rey Elementary School in Orinda.

They're shooting for the record for " and 402 unofficially looks like a record.

"Just to see everybody do something together with everyone focused," said student Hannah Biles. "It was great."

"They're all moving and that's what it's all about," said phys ed teacher Cheryl Collins, who has been working with individual PE classes for a month getting down the steps to dance and hula to Chris Brown's 'Let's Go."

Carrying the clicker that counted 402 children was Joan Pinto, who volunteered to keep the count to send in the official packet of information for the Guinness Book of World Records. She is a personal trainer whose kids went to Del Rey.
