There's an old saying, "They don't make 'em like they used to."

With that in mind, we thought on this week's real estate installment we'd look at the oldest home we could find for sale in Lamorinda.

This one is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 45 Longridge Road. The two-story home was built in 1938.

It sits on a quarter-acre lot and is 2,349 square feet. The home is listed as selling for $699,000.

There's also a home for sale in Lafayette that was built in 1938.

The oldest home for sale we could find in Moraga was built in 1956.

You can check out other older nearby homes on Walnut Creek Patch and Pleasant Hill Patch.

There's one built in the early 50's on 19 Lost Valley Drive. Check it out. For sale by owner.

The older homes on Happy Valley Rd are purchased and torn down. I can not blame them. Many of them appeared wretched from the outside. I can only imagine what they looked like on the inside. I wonder how many of the older homes in our area are simply bought for the lot.
