Check out these homes now on the market, one of which is 110 years old

You know the old saying. They don't make 'em like they used to.

They may or may not be true when it comes to homes, but for some people older houses are simply quainter and more "lived in."

This week, we thought we'd try to find the oldest home for sale in each of our communities.

In Lafayette, there's this five-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom house at 3848 Happy Valley Road that was built in 1903.

The 3,940-square-foot residence sits on more than a half-acre and has undergone some remodeling inside. The list price is $2.7 million.

In Orinda, there's this nine-bedroom, nine-bathroom house at 12 El Sueno that was built in 1929.

The 10,838-square-foot residence sits on nearly an acre. It's listed at $6.5 million.
