A story on ehow.com says a fireplace is one of the top six features an appraiser looks for when determining the value of a home.

So, with that in mind and the weather getting cooler and the days getting shorter, we thought we'd look at homes for sale in Central Contra Costa County that have at least one fireplace.

In Concord, this four-bedroom, three-bathroom house at 1938 Holly Creek Place has a fireplace in the living room.

The 3,146-square-foot home on a half-acre is listed at $919,000.

In Moraga, this five-bedroom, three-bathroom house at 7 Haven Court has fireplaces in the living room and family room.

The 3,433-square-foot home on a third of an acre is listed at $1.6 million.

In Walnut Creek, this six-bedroom, four-bathroom house at 1570 Sorrel Court has fireplaces in the family room, living room and master bedroom.

The 4,371-square-foot home on nearly a half-acre is listed at $1.4 million.
