Two Moraga Neighborhoods Petition for Traffic Crosswalks

The Town of Moraga has heard neighborhood concerns about two stretches of Moraga Road neighbors say need high-visibility crosswalks. The neighbors are seeking signatures for a petition mandating the changes.

Concerned residents in two Moraga neighborhoods are gathering petitions in support of their request for crosswalk improvements - one at Moraga Road at Corliss Drive, the other at Moraga Road and Woodford Drive.

About a dozen neighbors told the Town Council of and near mishaps at those two locales during a meeting May 25. Neighbors would like to see high‐visibility crosswalks, in‐pavement flashing lights, and overhead beacons installed in order to make crossing the road at any time day or night a safe proposition.

Town staff introduced the neighbors to the town's Traffic Calming Guide and asked them to bring back the required number of signatures needed to confirm neighborhood conformity with the plan and so far, we hear, 25 signatures have been collected.
