Lamorinda Patch has heard some chatter about potential new candidates for one of three council seats available come Nov. 6, but no official declarations or nominations are expected prior to the July 16 nomination period. If you intend to take the jump into the at-time testy space of town politics, please accept our best wishes and do, please, let us know.

The nomination period will be open from Monday, July 16, to Friday, August 10, 2012. Town staff tells us that if one of the incumbent officeholders does not file by the August 10 deadline, the nomination period for that vacancy will be extended (for any qualified person, other than the incumbent) until Wednesday, August 15, 2012.
