U.S. Rep. George Miller, D-Martinez, holds town meetings in Lafayette and El Cerrito Saturday morning.
Miller will be at the cafeteria at Acalanes High, 1200 Pleasant Hill Road, Lafayette, before moving on to El Cerrito.
Miller issued a news release this week applauding the award of a $200,000 federal grant intended to reduce domestic violence in Contra Costa County jurisdictions. The grant from the U.S. Justice Department is for utilizing an assessment tool to recognize women at risk in abusive relationships.
"What do you plan to do to stop intrusive phone calls from telemarketers and robocallers, given the the National Registry of Do-Not-Call numbers is now completely ineffective?"
Its a win/win...we can make the "rich" pay their share, create new government jobs and protect Americans from the nuisance of telemarketers at some undefined point in the future.
