Quiet Orinda Group Endorses Zeller In City Council Bid

A group seeking a ban on the use of leaf blowing equipment in Orinda is lending its support to the campaign of City Council candidate Scott Zeller.

A citizen's group seeking a ban on leaf-blowing equipment in Orinda has come out in support of City Council candidate Scott Zeller, who the group lauded for his stand against the machines as well as for his position on planned redevelopment of the city's downtown.

Zeller is one of five candidates running for one of three available council seats. Other contenders include incumbents Tom McCormick, Amy Worth and Sue Severson as well as current Orinda Planning Commisison Chairman Dean Orr.

In an announcement released this week, the "Quiet Orinda" group said it was endorsing Zeller because of his anti-blower position and because he "opposes the 55-foot high 'transit village' redevelopment of downtown Orinda."
