Orinda Schedules Second City Address

April 15 'State of the City' speech by Mayor Amy Worth will be free.

Orinda Mayor Amy Worth has scheduled a second session for her State of the City address to allow greater access for citizens, according to a city news release.

The second session allows citizens the option of either a daytime or evening program. The second session is free, at 7 p.m. Monday, April 15, at the Orinda Library Auditorium; no RSVP is necessary.

The initial session scheduled was the Orinda State of the City Luncheon sponsored by the Orinda Chamber of Commerce. The chamber luncheon, at a cost of $25, is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Orinda Country Club, 315 Camino Sobrante, Orinda.

Last week, when the chamber event was the only State of the City talk scheduled, the city received some criticism that such a speech should be free and open to the public in a column on the Halfway to Concord website.
