Orinda Council Meets Tonight; Chief To Address Recent Burglaries

The Orinda City Council meets Tuesday night to discuss a number of issues and hear from their police chief - who has been busy trying to stem a number of recent burglaries in town.

The Orinda City Council meets Tuesday night in the Garden Room of the , initially in closed session and then, at 7 p.m., in regular session and on a variety of topics.

Early in the night's agenda will be a report from on the recent spate of daylight burglaries in town. Jennings is expected to detail the thieve's method of operation as well as steps his department is taking against them.

Also on the agenda will be the expected adoption of an ordinance eliminating term limits for members of the Planning Commission and acceptance of a $22,000 donation from an Orinda couple who wanted to make sure the police K-9 unit remained funded and in the field.

The council will also receive a report from the Orinda Traffic Safety Advisory Committee (TSAC) detailing committee findings during its workshop study of traffic patterns and problems on Moraga Way.
