Orinda City Council To Discuss Budget At Tuesday Meeting

The Orinda City Council will continue to discuss its upcoming two-year budget plan at its next meeting.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the auditorium of the Orinda Library, 26 Orinda Way.

The council will take a look at the latest plans for the budgets for fiscal year 2014, which begins July 1, and fiscal year 2015.

The current budget projections call for a $10.5 million general fund budget this coming fiscal year and a $10.7 million budget the following year.

It's projected the city will end fiscal year 2013, having spent $10 million on city matters. While approving the current budget in 2011, the council had to eliminate a total shortfall of $700,000.

On Tuesday, the council will also discuss the fee structure for the various special assessment districts in town.
