Moraga Council Steers Road Repair Priorities

Also on the agenda for tonight's meeting is recognition of Campolindo girls volleyball champions and cross country champion Aidan Goltra.

The Moraga Town Council will talk about road repair priorities at its meeting tonight (Wednesday).

The agenda report has dollar comparisons for a choice of:

  • leveraging the additional sales tax from the Nov. 6 passage of Measure K to expedite road repairs or
  • adopting a "pay as you go" strategy putting about $1 million a year toward road maintenance.

A staff report on road priorities by the town's administrative services director and engineer, Stephanie Hom and Eric Kwan, is attached to this article as a PDF.

Also on the council's agenda is public recognition of a couple of stellar Campolindo High athletes:

  • Junior Aidan Goltra, who won the 2012 California Interscholastic Federation Division III race.
  • The girls volleyball team, which was runner-up in the state CIF championships and finished with a match record of 30-5. In the playoffs, the team — according to a Whereas in the council resolution — "followed a powerful pre-game routine that included chicken and pasta, and rapping to Eminem’s “Snap back to reality, Oops there goes gravity … You only get one shot, Do not miss your chance to blow, This opportunity comes once in a lifetime.”

The council meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School auditorium.
