Lafayette-Moraga Trail To Get a Nice, Even Surface

The East Bay Regional Park District is getting ready to repair portions of the Lafayette-Moraga Trail.

Walkers, joggers, bikers and buggy pushers will be happy to know that the much-used, much-loved Lafayette-Moraga Trail will be repaved soon.

Moraga Town Manager Jill Keimach announced the news in her About Town missive this week. Work gets underway in Moraga in mid-August with the East Bay Regional Park District repairing the trail from Westchester, near Canyon Bridge, to just behind Saklan School, and later from the Moraga Commons to the Moraga-Lafayette border.

Signage placed on the trail Sunday indicate a much earlier Aug. 1 starting date and possibly longer downtime for the popular walking trail, so Lamorinda Patch will keep an eye on things and advise users of any updates to the scheduling.

Keimach said parking in the Commons will be disrupted briefly during repaving, but the end result should make anyone who has caught a bike tire or pram wheel in a trail rut very happy.
