Lafayette Looks At Mt. Diablo Blvd. Medians

Staff is recommending a grant application for project at east end of downtown.

The city of Lafayette may pursue a grant application to fund new medians at the east end of downtown on Mount Diablo Boulevard.

The Lafayette City Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday in the Community Hall of the Lafayette library, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd.

The idea is to improve protection for pedestrians and streetscape features.

A report by Transportation Planner Leah C. Greenblat and Engineering Services Manager Tony Coe recommends the median project be submitted for a Contra Costa Transportation Authority grant application. The report details other projects that were candidates and were reviewed at a March 4 meeting of the Circulation Commission.
