Lafayette Considers Tougher Laws Against Smoking

Lafayette city officials are looking at a proposal that would ban smoking in apartments and other locations, according to an article in the Contra Costa Times.

It would prohibit smoking in outdoor dining areas, at public events and in multi-family common areas such as carports and balconies.

The proposal would be an update to Lafayette's current smoking laws.

City council members asked city staff to draw up the proposed new restrictions at their meeting on Monday.
