Lafayette residents Steve and Linda Wight are moving forward with their plan for a house on the hill after phase 1 of the Wight house was discussed by city council Monday night.
The Lafayette City Council met Monday to continue the appeal hearing of the Wight house, after the Planning Commission .
The Wight's architectural team came back with changes to the plan that were suggested at the , including a shift of the house, a change to make the roof flat and the addition of trees to block the home from view.
Neighbors who attended the meeting expressed their concerns about the ridgeline views and the construction plan.
Tom Steuber, a neighbor living on Monticello Rd., said he was extremely concerned about the impact of the Wight project on the neighborhood, specifically the staging and vehicle access to the project area.
Other members of the public and neighbors of the project expressed the same concerns, as well as the issue of visibility and construction scarring of the hillside.
David Bowie, the representative for the Wight family, emphasized the fact that a Phase 1 approval was merely supposed to address the site and massing of the project, which he said had both been dealt with.
