The Lafayette Crime Prevention Commission studies safety issues in the City and works to educate the public. Some activities of the Commission include coordinating the neighborhood watch and business alert programs, providing crime prevention tips to the local newspapers, supporting the Child I.D. program in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce and organizing a community safety day with Emergency Preparedness Commission.
