Earth Day Is Upon Us; Citizen Planet Dwellers To Clean Up the Reservoir

Ready for the Earth Day Lunch Hour Cleanup at the Lafayette Reservoir?

If you're looking for a warm-up exercise to kick off Earth Day this weekend join a bunch of good-hearted people for a noon cleanup of the Friday.

Marie Montoya and the staff at Hunsucker Goodstein & Nelson are joining forces with the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce for a land and water-based attack on trash at the rez from 11 to 3 p.m.

Marie and Lafayette Chamber Director Jay Lifson invite you to skip lunch Friday and meet at the upper Gate entrance at the Lafayette Reservoir at noon for some strategizing. Volunteers will take on various assignments both inside the reservoir and on the paths along Mt. Diablo Blvd.

Gloves, garbage bags and vests will be provided. Lafayette Reservoir has offered free boats to those who would like to cleanup by the shoreline. Participants for that project would need to sign a waiver.
