Dogfight In Moraga Over Rancho Laguna Park

Dozens turned out to air their views on the future of Moraga's Rancho Laguna Park Wednesday.

One of the most polarizing issues to roll through Moraga in recent months received a thorough airing out Wednesday evening as the Town Council met to determine an equitable future usage policy for Rancho Laguna Park.

Roughly 30 citizens lined up to speak for or against off-leash usage in the park, a tradition of sorts for dozens of local dog owners and a key issue to the headache facing the council and planners: how to meet the needs of all -- senior citizens, picnickers, parents with children, and dog-owners -- at the popular local park.

The key word at Wednesday night's meeting was: comprimise.
