Joselito Tangco did Carol Brophy an electoral solid on Tuesday.
Election Day dawned not so cool for Brophy, an Orinda resident. Her Mercedes Benz wouldn't start. She got AAA to jump-start it and she drove over to Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek.
Tangco drives the shuttle for the Mercedes dealership. He offered Brophy a ride home. She explained that she really wanted to stop at her polling place at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School in Orinda.
Tangco was up for it. And he was fascinated. The line was negligible. Brophy was in and out in minutes.
Voting can take hours in his native Philippines, Tangco said, and the results are in three to four months later. Working in the U.S. on a green card, Tangco, 36, said he's looking forward to becoming a U.S. citizen in several years and participating in Election Day.
