Advance Look: Moraga Doesn't Want To Be Buds With Marijuana Dispensaries
The Moraga Town Council meets Wednesday to make sure no medical marijuana dispensaries set up shop in town — and to prohibit outdoor cultivation.
Town leaders and police have determined that having a medical marijuana dispensary in Moraga would be a bad thing and they are taking steps to make sure one doesn't come to town.
Also in the wording of a proposed ordinance outlawing such an operation is a ban on the outdoor cultivation of marijuana, a practice Lamorinda Patch has learned is almost common in leafy little Moraga.
The Town Council will conduct a public hearing and introduction of an ordinance crafted to head off sale and cultivation of the Evil Weed during its Wednesday meeting, which kicks off at 7 p.m. in the Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School Auditorium, 1010 Camino Pablo.
