Vandal Catches Big Air - and Himself - On Candid Camera

Moraga police officers patrolling the Monday discovered a backpack had been left behind and opened it in an effort to track its owner.

They found a digital recording device inside and, reasoning that the video might provide a clue to the backpack's owner, played a revealing video a young man had made of himself damaging the Band Shell with his bicycle.

Interest piqued, officers were able to identify the youth in the video as he rode  through the skate park later in the day and requested that the 13-year-old call his mother.  Both met with officers for a talk regarding the destruction of town property and mom agreed that her son would benefit from participation in the Juvenile Diversion Program.
