A local man called Moraga police early Friday afternoon after reading a brief Patch story on an encounter between a Joaquin Moraga Intermediate student and a man in a silver car.
The student came away from the encounter feeling a little scared, saying the man motioned to her from his car, and told her parents upon returning home. But the driver of the silver sedan called Moraga police after seeing our story and said he was on Rimer Drive at the rear exit to JM Thursday when he saw the child standing near the crosswalk.
"He assumed she was waiting to cross the street," Moraga Police Lt. Jeff Price wrote. "The driver stopped, and motioned to the student to go ahead and cross the street. After realizing the student was not intending to cross the street, he proceeded home."
So, all's well that ends well, and we're glad to be able to put fears to rest.
