Unmoving Moving Van Blocks Rheem Boulevard

Update: Photo comes in from Tuesday scene when a van got stuck when undercarriage scraped against hilly road in Orinda.

Update, 8:00 am Wednesday, photo from Patch reader.

Patch reader Suzanne Driver of Moraga sent us a photo from Tuesday's Rheem moving van gridlock. "I was lucky enough to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time," wrote Driver in an email. "Was a mess." Thanks, Suzanne.

A disabled moving van blocked hilly, winding Rheem Boulevard in Orinda for hours Tuesday morning, a police sergeant said.

The full-size moving van was traveling along Rheem Boulevard near Calvin Drive around 8:45 a.m. when its undercarriage scraped against the hilly road and it became stuck, Orinda Police Sgt. Neil Rafanan said.

No injuries were reported. Traffic backed up, with the two-lane roadway partially blocked, Rafanan said.

A tow truck arrived at the scene at 11 a.m., he said.

Was this moving van here to move us to Temecula? Since the "What People Are Saying" column on the main page is overrun by comments from the Temecula story about secession, I thought maybe we'd moved and I just forgot.
