Two Burglaries in Moraga On Monday

Police say both homes were entered when doors were kicked in.

Two homes fell prey to burglars Monday, according to Lt. Jeff Price of the Moraga Police Department. Given the time frames and method of entry, the burglaries may have been the work of the same person or people.

A home on Larch Avenue was entered when the thief kicked in the front door, police say, between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Monday. Jewelry was stolen in that incident.

The second home, on Calle La Mesa, was broken into when the thief kicked in a side garage door between 1:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. A white car with a rear spoiler may be involved in that crime, Price said.

Police are urging residents to remain alert and to report immediately any suspicious activity at (925) 260-2143.

I live in the area and a resident on Larch had two suspicious African American female solicitors at her door around 6:15-6:30 Monday evening. The Moraga Police were later patrolling Larch, responding to a call, that someone saw an individual wearing a black hoodie and mask. Everyone needs to call in any suspicious activity to the police number above.

an obvious fake solicitor was going door to door on Larch on the previous Friday at around 5:45pm. He was a Black Male 30-35 years of age in all white clothing and tie using the name Ronald Hunt. Police were called and checked the are without locating the suspect.

On Tuesday, across from Campo, there was an attempted break-in from a black male. The resident was home but didn't go to the door until the second knock when they heard the lock wiggling. When she went to the door a Black Male was there and got scared off. He came to the door the night before as a solicitor.
