California Highway Patrol officers said high speeds contributed to an early-morning crash on Highway 24 near Orinda which landed one car on its roof and briefly closed a lane of westbound traffic.
Another motorist advised officers that two vehicles traveling at speeds upwards of 100 mph were seen speeding through the area at 4:59 a.m. when the driver of one of the cars lost control and it overturned.
No injuries were reported and there was no word if the driver of the vehicle was cited. Traffic through the area was flowing freely by 7:20 a.m., according to the CHP.
