UPDATE: Fatal Pedestrian and Car Accident at Upper Happy Valley & El Nido; Road Closures Expected for Hours

The Lafayette Police Department reported at 1:50 p.m. today -- Tuesday -- that a fatal accident occurred involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at El Nido Ranch and Upper Happy Valley roads.

The roadway will remain closed for approximately five hours, police said, and residents are to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Do not travel Happy Valley Road to get to the Upper Happy Valley neighborhoods, as Upper Happy Valley is closed from Los Arabis Drive to El Nido Ranch, police said.

The Lafayette Police Department reports a vehicle and pedestrian accident this afternoon -- Tuesday -- and is advising locals to avoid the area of El Nido Ranch at Upper Happy Valley Roadway.

The area is closed at Upper Happy Valley Road and Los Arabis to El Nido, police said.
